Weeell, having learned that natural air drying clay does not like being a skin less than 5mm thick over polystyrene(more cracks than a new years lock-in at a dubliners pub)...
.....fellback to playing with eggs and fire, leaving us with these..
the first just hit with minor fire from a butane(not without adult supervision kiddies)torch the second skinned with clay painted red, drybrushed grey then white.the next brown, green.yellow ochre highlights much more appealing in real life, makes a good goblin/thing egg.

the nicest of the three but not really done justice by photo(sorry)bronzed, drybrushed black then given a glaze of  old oak wax stain for wood.this one...feels nice, looks kinda dusty like a meteorite but the pen torch induced dimpling is just a little too regular to be natural.Alien tech perhaps?
have build images and descriptions for each of these and tips on  framing them as props for games but din't want to over post myself .

Nother nice accident, the upper image is a polymer clay...er..doodle,the second the same skinned with clay, sculpted with a matchstick and paintbrush;then glazed again with liquid wax stain
The..doodle had been sitting around for months, now finally Azathoth's mad blind pipers have a pipe to serenade the roiling madness at the center of space and time.
